Well I took an ovulation test this morning and it was positive!!! So according to the internet that means I will be ovulating within the next 36 hours. It would be so awesome if we were successful our first time around. Wish us luck!

Ovulation
It's amazing. Most women spend the first 10-15 years of their menstrual cycle trying to prevent pregnancy. Thinking it's so easy to slip and get pregnant. This is the most tedious thing I have ever tried to do! I bought an ovulation kit today. I'm checking my "secretions" and one day it looks like it should when you are about to ovulate then the next it doesn't. According to the test it says you have a LH hormone surge immediately before you ovulate so that's what it tests for. I took a test today and it was negative for LH, it comes in a pack of 20 thank god! I know, I know I need to just relax and "let it happen". I would but every time I ask someone how long it took for them to get pregnant when they were just "letting it happen" they all said a year or more! Screw that shit I don't wanna wait years! Technically I have been already. I've wanted a baby for a while now but Will wasn't completely ready yet....plus I had to finish school. So yes I might be a little impatient. Ok I'm very impatient but those who know me know this is normal for me lol! Well I'm suppose to be ovulating this weekend so wish us luck!

Great News!!!!
Ok so last week my boss at the St. Luke's Hospital told me he had to cut my hours to only 8 hours a week. Not good! So I called him this week to see if there was any more hours I could work and he said that he doesn't need me at all this week because of how slow they are. Ouch! So I decided to go find some part time work at another hospital because I need the money. I know someone that works at Methodist Transplant Hospital so I went there. The OR Director talked with me for a little bit and introduced me to the SPD manager. We talked for like an hour and a half and he said he was going to give me a position! Score!!!! He was really awesome! To top it off the OR Director told me that me working in the instrument room will give him a chance to get to know me and my work ethic and to see if he might hire me as a surgical tech when I graduate in December! Score!!! Again!!! I could learn how to do liver and kidney transplants!!! To be able to be apart of saving someones life like that would be such a blessing. I'm so excited and happy!!

Finally calming down...
Ok so I have finally started to calm down about this whole pregnancy thing. I guess I just got soooo excited because this is so new to me. I'm an only child who never really did much babysitting so babies are new and exciting for me! I'm going to wait until I finally get my period and then do the counting and I might even get the ovulation test. Is it reusable? Knowing me I will test myself too soon and these tests get expensive lol. Thanks for the advice everyone! I will keep you posted! This is so funny...most women hate getting their period and for the first time I'm welcoming mine with open arms! lol

So I have a question...
Since I still haven't gotten my period....does that mean I can still ovulate? Or do I have to wait until my period decides to make a presence? I took another test on Sunday and it was negative. This is soooo frustrating! To top it all off my symptoms are gone too. Before I had all the period symptoms except the period and now I have nothing...???? Can someone explain this to me because I am impatient! lol

Holy hormones!
Ok so I know my hormones are trying to regulate themselves right now but this is ridiculous! I was like robo bitch today! I have all the symptoms of PMS but still no period....wtf? This morning it felt like someone was squeezing my uterus...I'm moody...boobs are tender...and no period....once again wtf? I know stress will cause your period to delay but I haven't really been stressed out that much. Anyone have any home remedies that could help speed this up a bit? I don't want to be PMSing for weeks! Poor Will is suffering over here.

The journey begins
I'll start from the beginning. I have been wanting a baby for quite some time now but Will is more logical when it comes to big decisions. He wanted to wait until I was done with school...which I agreed with. It didn't stop all these maternal feelings from haunting me for soooo long lol. The pill has never agreed with my body. It always made me feel like crap. September 9, 2009 I decided I was going to stop taking it because I got tired of messing with my natural hormones. Will understood and said that he was ready to at least "go with the flow" and let fate take over. I was extremely happy! Well after a few weeks he informed me that he was definitely ready to have a baby...which made me even more happy! I admit it...I cried. I was suppose to get my period yesterday but nothing happened. Even today no period. I know I'm not pregnant...but just to ease my mind I took a test and I was right. I admit I was a little bummed but I knew it was still too soon after I stopped the pill. I went to an appointment today to learn more about using a midwife and I'm convinced its the best way to go! It's much more personal then using an OB/GYN who is only going to be there to deliver the baby and that's about it....and your lucky if the doctor you have been seeing for the last 9 months is the one who delivers you...screw that shit! I want the same people every time! With this practice I get 3 midwives that will be seeing me through my future pregnancy and I'm guaranteed to have at least one of them deliver my baby. Works for me! The work with actual doctors as well in one big practice so in case of an emergency all they have to do is call the doctor on call but the midwife is with you the whole time. I have heard such great things about using midwives! I'm so excited! I can't wait! Will thinks I'm nuts! lol. We have decided to start actually trying for a baby so that is going to be interesting! I think I'm so into this already because I have never been pregnant before and I'm an only child so I don't know what to expect. Google might actually send me a bill with all the research I have been doing lately LOL! I would love to hear your thoughts is any. I'm open for any advice!
