33 weeks...

Well we have made it to the 33 week mark. Jacob has already dropped and is in position for birth in just about 7 weeks. Most people don't think I will make it until then...at this point I just want to make it until 37 weeks and then he is more then welcome to come out! We watched a documentary called, "The Business of Being Born". It was basically about how the medical industry has jaded the beauty of giving birth. I chose midwives because I didn't want some doctor whose only concern was to get me in and out as quickly as possible. I know that not all doctors are like that but I see a lot working in the operating room...I'm not impressed. Will and I have done our research and decided we would like to try and go natural. Yes it will hurt, but what did women do before pain killers and epidurals? Not to mention all the important hormones that are released during natural birth that aren't when your body is flooded with meds. We learned some bonding methods in our childbirth class yesterday that we are excited to try when our baby is here. They said to tell the nurses to wait to put the eye gel in until after I have breastfed and Will has held the baby against his bare chest so that the baby could see us clearly and hear our voices and feel comforted. I LOVE this idea! We only have 2 more things to get for baby Jacob and that's a monitor and bouncer. Will has been a saint putting up with my mood swings and emotional roller coasters...he is such an amazing man. Jacob will be a great man someday because of Will...and well I'll help lol. Lately I have kind of had the blues. I've learned some things about life that are somewhat disappointing and I think a major part of my blues is just fear. Don't worry its not baby blues! I'm perfectly happy when it comes to my baby I just wish I had done some things differently that may have helped prevent the amount of discomfort I'm feeling right now. I miss working! I got a temp job for next week! Thank God I'm going nuts! I mean, I enjoy being able to relax everyday but after a while I wish I had something to do. There's only so many times I can clean my house or arrange Jacob's nursery. 7 weeks to go and it sounds like such a long time but I know it really isn't when you consider whats about to happen. We are so anxious to meet our little man that we created. He has been kicking up a storm lately...I thought the movement was suppose to decrease due to lack of room but apparently that is not stopping our little Jacob. It's awesome though I just love watching my tummy move and feeling him stretch. If I had the option to give birth now with a guarantee from God that he would be 100% healthy....I so would!
